February 4–6, 2026 | 09:30–18:30 The three-day Blender Technical Training Program and Industry Visit was successfully conducted from February 4 to February 6 at the Animation Creators Base computer lab. The program invited Yao-Wei Lin, Product Team Lead at Dream Animation, as the lead instructor. Through structured lectures and hands-on exercises, participants were guided in building a solid foundation in 3D animation production.

The program began on February 4 with an introduction to fundamental 3D concepts and their application in animation production. The session outlined how 3D technologies are used in real-world animation projects and provided an overview of industry workflows, helping participants establish a comprehensive understanding of production pipelines. This was followed by an introduction to Blender, including reasons for its adoption in the industry, installation setup, and interface navigation. Participants practiced essential operations such as hotkeys and viewport control to become familiar with core software functions.

On February 5, the training focused on 3D modeling fundamentals. Topics included object creation and basic model editing techniques. Participants were assigned in-class exercises using provided orthographic reference drawings, allowing them to complete basic modeling tasks and strengthen their understanding of form construction and spatial structure.

The final day, February 6, covered UV unwrapping and texturing workflows. The instructor explained UV mapping principles and key considerations in the process, followed by an introduction to PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials. Participants learned how texturing enhances model detail and improves visual quality in 3D production.

In addition to the training sessions, an industry visit was arranged to Dream Animation. The team shared insights into company operations, current trends in the animation industry, and real project case studies. This visit helped participants extend their learning from technical skills to practical industry understanding, offering a more complete view of animation production pipelines and studio workflows.

The program was conducted in collaboration with National Taiwan Normal University, which assisted in participant recruitment. Attendees included faculty members and professionals from multimedia-related departments across Taiwan. Following the program, participants actively shared feedback and expressed interest in arranging further visits and exchanges with the association, enhancing the visibility of the Animation Creators Base and opening up additional opportunities for future collaboration.
