March 31, 2026 The Animation and Visual Effects Association (AVA), commissioned by the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), successfully hosted the Animation Industry Gathering and 2026 Taiwan Pavilion Information Session on April 16, bringing together professionals from the animation, film, and audiovisual sectors to exchange insights and learn about upcoming international market opportunities.

(the right)  The event opened with remarks from TAICCA Vice President Chung-Tien Yang, followed by a presentation delivered by Project Specialist Chieh Lin, who introduced the participation plans for the 2026 Taiwan Pavilion at two major international industry events: Marché du Film (Cannes Film Market) and the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and its market (MIFA).

During the presentation, TAICCA outlined its overall strategy for enhancing the international visibility of Taiwanese content through a unified national pavilion. The Taiwan Pavilion will provide participating companies with a shared exhibition space, visual promotion opportunities, international media exposure, networking events, online catalog promotion, and showcase trailer production. Shared meeting facilities will also be available to support business discussions and facilitate connections with international partners.

Special networking and promotional activities are planned for both events. At Cannes, the program will include TAIWAN NIGHT CANNES 2026 and international producer networking sessions aimed at fostering cross-border collaborations and industry connections. At Annecy and MIFA, the focus will be on animation content promotion through the TAIWAN SPOTLIGHT PITCHING & NETWORKING SESSION, providing Taiwanese creators and studios with valuable opportunities to present their projects and engage with international buyers, distributors, and potential partners.

TAICCA also introduced participation requirements and operational guidelines, including badge allocation mechanisms, exhibitor responsibilities, and post-event reporting procedures. These measures are designed to ensure effective resource utilization and support ongoing evaluation of international promotion initiatives.

A key highlight of the event was the experience-sharing session featuring professionals with firsthand participation experience at Annecy and MIFA. Speakers shared practical insights into international sales strategies, market engagement, and exhibition preparation, offering valuable references for companies considering participation in future international markets.

The event concluded with an open networking session, allowing attendees from across the animation and audiovisual industries to exchange ideas, discuss collaboration opportunities, and strengthen professional connections.

Through policy updates, practical case studies, and face-to-face industry interaction, the event provided participants with a clearer understanding of international market opportunities and effective participation strategies. AVA remains committed to supporting Taiwanese animation and audiovisual creators in expanding their global presence and building sustainable international partnerships.
